AI Pushes Modular Robotics Use and Productivity

by Carolyn Mathas

ResearchAndMarkets just unveiled their “Modular Robotics Market Research Report: By Offering, Robot Type, Payload Capacity, End User – Global Industry Analysis and Growth Forecast to 2030” study.

The software segment of the mark is predicted to have the fastest growth based on the need for checking the real-time functioning of modular robotics systems, as well as the increased integration of IoT and AI in robots. The highest market growth, however, will be in the hardware category.

The robot types covered in the research include selective compliance assistance robot arm (SCARA) modular robotics systems, collaborative modular robots, cartesian modular robots, parallel modular robots, and articulated modular robotics systems. The latter division is expected to see the highest growth in the next several years.

Market drivers include:

  • Greater use of collaborative modular robotics systems (cobots) in logistics will speed production, and lower cost and facility floor space needs
  • Higher use of cobots for load carrying and transporting tasks
  • Increased requirements for automation in manufacturing, warehouse operations, and manufacturing processes

Modular robotics system use will increase globally and revenues are anticipated to rise from $5.6 billion to $15.1 billion from 2019 to 2030 and a CAGR of 9.9% from 2020 to 2030. Find more information on this report at https://www.researchandmarkets.com/r/jb90fd
