Logistics and supply chain solution provider, Blume Global claims that it is now carbon neutral. By partnering with climate solutions and carbon project developer South Pole, Blume identified its carbon footprint and offset 1,805 tons of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by investing in a rooftop solar power project in New Delhi and a forest protection project in Kariba, Zimbabwe.
Blume and South Pole also developed a greenhouse gas emissions reduction plan covering direct and indirect emissions from sources Blume owns or controls, and emissions related to such corporate activities as travel, commuting and waste disposal, which it will audit annually.
Blume customers use domestic reload and street turn solutions, that optimizes container moves, minimizing empty repositioning or by matching outbound and inbound transportation requirements. The result is the reduction in empty miles by 20-30 percent. The company develops technologies to streamline logistics and create supply chain sustainability solutions.
